Gage McGuire led Coldwater to a Class A district title in 2018.
Gage McGuire is the right man at the right time. The 6-6 Coldwater senior’s versatility on either end of the court make him an ideal fit for the trending position-less basketball. He’ll be taking such next season to Emporia State, a D2 school in Kansas and member of the “other” MIAA. McGuire is part of the first full recruiting class for coach Craig Doty, who has won NAIA and junior college national titles.
McGuire led Coldwater to I8 and Class A district championships as a junior. He averaged 18 points, 7.6 rebounds, 2,3 assists, 1.7 blocks and 1.5 steals per game. The best part about McGuire’s game offensively is his efficiency, minimizing dribbles with strong drives; defensively it’s how he can get out on the floor and switch on guards or forwards.
