Bank Hoops Division 2 MVP Durral Brooks from Grand Rapids Catholic Central.

MVP Durral Brooks 6-2 Sr Grand Rapids Catholic Central Michigan: One of Dusty May’s first victories as Michigan’s coach was keeping Brooks pledged to the Wolverines. He becomes U-M’s first Mr. Basketball since Kalamazoo Central’s Isaiah Livers in 2017. “Phat Phat” averaged 27.1 points, 8.1 rebounds, 5 assists and 3 steals for the Cougars’ regional championship team.

Defensive MVP Kimari Barden 6-6 Sr Warren Lincoln: Rangy and versatile, he averaged 11.5 rebounds, 3.0 blocked shots and 3.5 steals per game for the state champion Abes.

Rookie MVP Eden Vinyard 6-7 Fr Ferndale: He averaged 17 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists and 1.3 blocked shots per game.

Coach of the Year Zach Ingles, Belding: The Black Knights went from one win in Ingles first season, 2021-22, to four wins, to 16-8, marking the most wins in a season in school history.

Moses Blackwell 5-7 Jr Warren Lincoln: He led the state champion Abes in three-pointers, assists and steals. He averaged 7.4 points, 8.4 assists and 4.0 steals per game while shooting 52 percent from the field, 40 percent from three-point range and 85 percent from the line

Joey Cabana 6-2 Sr Chelsea: He averaged 21.3 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists and two steals per game for state semifinalist Chelseas, while shooting 50 from the floor, 42 from 3 and 80 percent from the line.

Stevie Elam 6-2 Jr Adrian: This D1 prospect averaged 28.8 points, 8.9 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 3 steals per game.

Gavin Grondin 6-0 Jr Kingsford: He averaged 22.1 points, 4.5 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 2.3 steals per game for Kingsford’s regional championship team.

Terez Holmes 6-7 Jr Centerline: He averaged 19 points, 12 rebounds and 3.4 blocked shots per game.

Nate Johnson 6-5 Sr Grand Rapids Christian Detroit: He was the leading scorer and passer for the state runner-up Eagles averaging 12.2, 2.9 assists and 2 steals per game.

Parker LePla 6-8 Jr Goodrich: He led the Martians to a regional title averaging 18.4 points, 12 rebounds an 4.1 assists per game while shooting 56 percent.

Jaylan Ouwinga 6-9 Sr Grand Rapids Christian Toledo: He averaged 11.7 points and 6.7 rebounds while shooting 53 percent for the state runner-up Eagles.

Mike Phillips 5-10 Sr Niles: He averaged 20 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals per game.

Javontae Ross 5-11 Jr Flint Powers: He led the Chargers to the state semifinals averaging 16.4 points, 5.4 assists and 3.1 steals per game while shooting 54 percent from the field.

David Schillinger 5-8 Sr Ludington: Ludington’s all-time leading scorer, he averaged 26.7 points, 2.1 assists and 3.2 steals per game, shooting 55 percent from the floor.

Dontez Scott 6-1 Sr Romulus Summit Academy North Saginaw Valley State: He averaged 23 points, 4 rebounds and 6 assists per game.

Jake Stephens 6-4 Sr Chelsea North Georgia: He led state semifinalist Bulldogs in scoring and rebounding averaging 25.3 and 11 per game while shooting 50 percent from the field, 36 from the floor and 82 percent from the foul line.

Carson Vis 6-4 Jr Grand Rapids South Christian: D1 prospect averaged 18 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals per game.

Xander Wedlow 6-9 Sr Detroit University Prep: Averaged 15 points, 10 rebounds and 8 blocked shots per game.
