Class of 2026 All-Camp Team
Co-MVPs: Jacob Pleyer 6-1 Fr Watervliet & Keyshawn Summerville 5-9 Fr Lansing Waverly
Darnell Murphy 6-0 Fr Romulus Summit Academy North: He’s already a three-time camp vet, and has been all business even when younger than now. Ideal fit for Mark White at North Summit. Quick with or without the ball. Can score at the cup or with the pull-up. Solid shooter but not an automatic stick yet. “Highly skilled for an incoming freshman,” a coach said. “Played with ease in stations and in games.”
Arquez Petty 5-7 Fr Muskegon: Other Muskegon freshmen like dunking James Martin and guard Je’Marion Brown played well at camp, but Petty makes the cut here given his consistency. Stronger and more explosive than one might think at first glance. Plays with an edge, and seems in tune to what we’ve come to expect from Muskegon guards — quick, skilled, combative and not afraid to put it up.
Cameron Ryans 6-4 Fr Grand Rapids Northview: Putting the big in big guard, a rare size/skill combo for his age who will be an impact freshman for Northview if he can avoid whistles. Belied his size with the ease in which Ryans could turn the corner, or dial up the 3 ball. “I was very impressed overall, but wow especially with his footwork around the basket,” a coach said. “He was schooling any and everyone who tried to defend him in the post. Then he’s shot fake and drive om them or pull up from mid-range. Has very good handles and knows how to get the shot that he wants. Led the break a few times after securing rebounds, and ran the floor like a guard.”
Julius Wilson 6-2 Fr L’anse Creuse: One of the more impressive players here athletically, looking the part to position, regardless of age. Physical driver, and was quick to get tips on defense. Shot it out to 20, and could create, spin, finish against closeouts. Sprinted more in transition D than a typical incoming freshman.
Rowan Zickert 5-10 Fr Benzie Central: Lucky for Benzie, they get eight-straight years of Zickerts, with Rowan succeeding graduated brother Quinn and his immaculate jumpshot. While little Z can shoot it too, he’s more a true penentrating point guard. Money from the corners, and used it to set up drives. Had a good rapport finding the cutting and slashing Julius Wilson, above.
