Chelsea senior guard Jake Stephens has committed to North Georgia.
Well, that didn’t last long. Less than a week after being named the No. 2 available combo guard in the state’s 2024 class, Jake Stephens is available no more. The 6-4 Chelsea senior has committed to D2 North Georgia.
Long a complete, physical, unflappable player, as a junior Stephens established himself not just an all-around scorer but efficient three-point shooter. He averaged 22.4 points for Chelsea’s regional championship team, then that carried over as he was one of the leading scorers on the NY2LA circuit with DV45. Rebounds like a 4 and passes like a 1, with the frame of a 3.
Southern schools have done well by the Stephens family before, as Jake’s dad Greg Stephens was a standout guard for East Tennessee State via Adrian.
