A lot of great players have hailed from Downriver. But none of them accomplished what Ecorse senior Malik Olafioye did last week, when he surpassed 2,000 career points in Ecorse’s 91-54 win over Detroit East English Village.
Olafioye scored 28 in the win, that’s “light work” given his recent production. The 2,000-point barricade stood no change as he had rattled off successive games of 40, 37, 31, 36 and 52 points.
Adding to the impressive feat is that he did it sharing the ball in the backcourt with another prolific senior guard, Kenneth Morast, who surpassed 1,000 career points himself in the same game. Those to give the Raiders a leg up in the quest to make a repeat March appearance at the Breslin Center … and for Olafioye’s point tally to keep clicking.
