Plainwell senior Isaac Davis is averaging over 22 points per game.
An MIAA recruiting target throughout the season, 6-2 Plainwell guard Isaac Davis is now getting NAIA buzz as well as he continues through his strong senior campaign.
Davis is averaging 22.3 points and 6.7 rebounds per game, while shooting 48 percent from the field, 71 percent from the line and 37 percent from three-point range. Other than against undefeated Otsego, he’s seen gimmick defenses all year. Nevertheless, Davis has shaken free for games of 41 points against Paw Paw and 31 against Portage Northern, both Plainwell wins. He has to do a lot for Plainwell offensively and that can lead to some bad shots, but when coming off of screens, making the catch out of sets, pulling up on the break in rhythm, Davis has really nice looking form with legit jumpshot elevation.
He started hitting the weight room religiously last May, and Davis’ game blossomed as a result, and now it’s easy to see his college frame and potential. He’s a natural 2 but could back up at the 1 — fast with the ball more of a straight-line driver than a guy with a lot of wiggle, but can get a team into its offense. Sweetening the deal as a recruit is his 3.9 gpa.
