Class A Player of the Week
Karmari Newman  6-4  Sr  Detroit East English Village: While they could probably use it now, George Mason will have to wait for the scoring punch Newman provides. It was in overdrive against Detroit Osborn when he tallied nearly half of EEV’s 90 points with 42 of his own.

Class A Underclassman of the Week
Randy Gilbert  6-5  So  Detroit Cass Tech: His buzzer-beater gave Cass a 71-70 win over Detroit Mumford. Gilbert had 15 points, 12 rebounds and five blocked shots.

Class B Player of the Week
Nick Klingel  6-4  Sr  Paw Paw: His 47 points in a win over Plainwell set the Paw Paw single-game scoring record. It was the third time this season Klingel has made at least five three-pointers.

Class B Underclassman of the Week
Mario Whitley  6-4  So  Frankenmuth: Frankenmuth remains undefeated after a pair of wins last week. Whitley had 18 points and eight rebounds against Ithaca and 22 points with 11 rebounds against Alma.

Class C Player of the Week
Dylan Patton  6-7  Sr  Leslie: He recorded his 11th and 12th double-double last week with 15, 10 and five blocked shots against Portland and 12 and 10 against Perry.

Class C Underclassman of the Week
David DeJulius  6-0  So  Detroit Edison: With two of the state’s top Class C players on the court, DeJulius met Cornerstone’s Jamal Cain’s 30 points with 28 of his own, and Edison won 74-67.

Class D Player of the Week
Ben Lubitz  6-4  Sr  Mio: He reached the 30-point mark for the seventh and eighth time last week, with 33 and 11 rebounds against Hale and 32 with 15 boards against Posen.

Class D Underclassman of the Week
Trey Helinski  5-10  So  Adrian Lenawee Christian: He scored 16 in a loss to Class B Detroit Consortium. That followed 24 points in a win at Flint International Academy, 22 in the first half.
