Class A Player of the Week
Brennan Buszka 6-3 Jr Grosse Pointe South: He did a bit of everything to earn MVP honors in South’s OT win over Novi in the Motor City Roundball Classic, with 22 points, 11 boards and five steals.

Class A Underclassman of the Week
Duane Washington 6-1 So Grand Rapids Christian: As anticipated as their transfers’ eligibility is, the Eagles’ next isn’t barren. Washington is one of the top point guards in the 2018 class and scored 26 in GR Christian’s win over NorthPointe Christian. That improved them to 4-0 before falling to Hudsonville in the final of the Cornerstone Christmas tournament.

CPA senior Jalen Martin is one of Michigan’s top dual-sport athletes.

Class B Player of the Week
Jalen Martin 6-3 Sr Chandler Park Academy: He’s committed to Toledo for football and would be a scholarship hooper had he chosen that route. Martin had 40 points and 20 rebounds in CPA’s win over Detroit Denby in the PSL Holiday Hoops Classic.

Class B Underclassman of the Week
George Sadler 6-0 So Southfield Bradford: Heretofore best known for his football exploits, Sadler can apparently hoop some too. He had 15 points and nine rebounds in Bradford’s win over Detroit Cornerstone in the Motor City Roundball Classic.

Class C Player of the Week
Dwight Burton 6-2 Sr Detroit Delta: New locale same positive results for the former Mumford guard, as Burton had 38 points in a win against Pontiac Notre Dame.

Class C Underclassman of the Week
Anthony George 6-1 Grosse Pte. University Liggett: His 21 points led Liggett to a win over Henry Ford Academy.

Class D Player of the Week
Gunnar Libby 5-9 Jr Hillman: He scored 25 points with four steals as Hillman improved to 4-0 with a win over Rudyard. He’s averaging 24 points, 4 assists and 7 steals per game.
